Faith-Based and Mission Driven
UCC Homes exemplifies the rich history of a passion-driven movement, founded in 1955 and incorporated in 1962 by the Lancaster Synod of the former Evangelical and Reformed Church, which currently comprises sponsoring Associations within the United Church of Christ in central Pennsylvania. Fulfilling a need to provide housing, care, and services to older adults by opening one community in 1965, UCC Homes has expanded our program of services to six distinctive communities focused on enriching the lives of those we serve.
The UCC congregations continue to be our collaborative partners in achieving our missional objectives. The corporation of UCC Homes consists of one pastor and one lay delegate from each of our 70 sponsoring congregations within the United Church of Christ. Our 15-member volunteer Board of Directors is elected during UCC Homes Annual Corporation Meeting and consists of representatives from those sponsoring congregations. While closely related to the ministry of the United Church of Christ in health and welfare, the National United Church of Christ bears no responsibility or liability for our organization’s operations. We view our mission as a joint ministry in partnership with the pastors and members who provide support and guidance in a wide variety of ways.
