COMMUNITY LIVING IN CARLISLE
Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home is adjacent to an athletic field of Dickinson College and is located in a residential neighborhood.
Transportation is
available to nearby banking facilities and shopping areas. Churches of many
denominations provide services and programs that are available to our
residents.
Carlisle, the county seat, was established in 1750, along the banks of the Conodoguinet and Yellow Breeches Creeks. Once a trading post located on The Great Road to the Potomac River, the Cumberland Valley now hosts the Pennsylvania Turnpike, providing easy access for visitors. At the same time, covered bridges still cover the creeks here, leading visitors on a nostalgic tour of the beautiful countryside.
Craft shows, theatrical productions,
and antiques and collectibles market offer residents and guests many
opportunities to continue cultural interest.
